This is the start of something new...

 {it feels so right to be here with you}

I knew some of you would finish that High School Musical reference in your head anyway. :)

This is the story all about how our lives got flipped, turned upside down and we bought our first HOUSE! Isaiah and I had been in the market for a fixer upper (and we had seen some fixer uppers for sure!) but nothing seemed to be just what we were looking for in the right location and price range. That changed one Sunday afternoon when our realtor suggested that we just go out and look at some houses for fun. I had seen a listing for a cute house that seemed to be perfect for us, and our realtor found the listing and took me to see it while Isaiah was out of town with some friends. I LOVED the house, and the fixes looked minor to moderate (instead of ridden with mold and caving in like a few houses we had seen!). As soon as Isaiah was back in town, I sent him off to the house to take a look (in the dark and in the cold). He liked it just as much as I did, so we chatted about it that night. Our realtor let us know that the bidding was due that night at midnight so we needed to decide something quickly! We thought it through and prayed about it, and sent our bid in (to the government since they owned it).

We found out at about 10:00 the next morning that our bid had been accepted and that we had 24 hours to send in a WHOLE bunch of stuff! We signed the necessary paperwork and sent it on in! Since it was a government-owned house, they estimated that it would take 45 days, and our closing date is 44 days after we got our bid accepted. Things didn't go without issue, but God took care of the details. Here we are, forty-five days after we looked at the house and this baby is ours! Isaiah and I are so excited to have a project to work on continually and make it our own! This blog will (hopefully) contain the adventures we have as we DIY our way into loving our first home! (And we hope to gain some advice to share along the way!)

Photo couretesy of Google Maps, the car is not ours and the weather is not that nice!
